Testosterone is a hormone classified under the group of androgens accountable for the occurrence and perpetuation of male sexual features. However, its influence extends beyond reproductive function, as it has been found to impact the immune system in complex and multifaceted ways. The intricate relationship between testosterone and immunity has garnered considerable interest in medical research. BMI, Body mass index; CI, Confidence intervals; IL, Interleukin; NHANES, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey; ORs, Odds ratios; SII, Systemic immune-inflammation index; TD, Testosterone deficiency. The patients/participants provided their written informed consent to participate in this study. The studies involving human participants were reviewed and approved by The Wake Forest School of Medicine Institutional Review Board. The datasets presented in this study can be found in online repositories. It’s always advisable to consult a healthcare professional before starting any supplement, particularly if you have underlying health conditions or are taking medication. However, some users may experience mild side effects, especially if taken in excessive amounts or without proper guidance. This multi-angle approach is designed to create a sustainable increase in testosterone rather than a temporary spike. Tstrive works by targeting multiple pathways involved in testosterone production. This makes it appealing for men experiencing early signs of low testosterone, such as fatigue, reduced libido, and decreased muscle mass. In this detailed review, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Tstrive supplement, including ingredients, benefits, potential side effects, and whether it’s worth your investment. Finally, according to the American Urological Association guidelines, serum testosterone should be measured twice and conducted in an early morning fashion (19). As a prevalence study database, we could not confirm the causal relationship between the SII and TD, which is the main restriction. Compared with traditional inflammatory factors, the SII better reflects the inflammatory state and has shown better prognostic value in several studies. An NHANES study conducted by Zhang et al. investigated the association between the dietary inflammatory index and male hormones and reported that men who adhere to an inflammatory diet appear to be at greater risk for TD (20). This review suggests that TD can promote an elevation of inflammatory factor levels. For example, the antihypertensive drug β-blockers atenolol, can inhibit the sympathetic nervous system, thereby inhibiting the release of testosterone (38, 39). Thus, we believe that SII is directly related to the incidence of TD in men aged years. Dutasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor (5-ARI) able to block conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, commonly used for benign prostatic hyperplasia and androgenetic alopecia with a better tolerability profile than ADT. Indeed, the virus should be isolated from testicular specimens of patients with COVID-19 infection or detected in semen samples. This observation confirms not only that hypogonadism is a risk factor for a worse clinical course, but also suggests that hypogonadism and the consequent loss of immunosuppressive effects may represent a pathogenetic mechanism of the virus through testicular involvement. Based on these considerations we can also expect that ADT for PC may lower susceptibility to COVID-19 infection and lead to a worse course in an advanced phase (Figure 1).
